Dreams of a year

is a quadruple experimentation with mixed media based on printmaking and it was a big part of my first public show.

During the summer of 2020, I was playing with different media and exploring printmaking with experimental materials to create a series of new things I have never done before.

It doesn’t matter if I understand why white people call Chinese traditional craft paper "Rice paper” although it’s nothing to do with rice. I used leftover “Rice paper” from my installation “Paper Rain Coat” and recycled rubber glass to create hundreds of small pieces of “mono printings” with hand shred “Rice paper” and colored the edge of tiny art with Chinses ancient color Cinnabar to create a sense of burning. I call those unique, uncopyable micro pieces “Dreams”.

They were part of my first public show c“(dis) Ordered Nature & Dreams” with Paula.Nishikawara at "Space" in Wast Vancouver in September 2020.
